This pottery figure of Toad of Toad Hall was bought a number of years ago direct from the David Sharp Pottery in Rye, West Sussex.
It depicts Toad from Kenneth Grahame's novel "Wind in the Willows" in his driving apparel.
A green glaze has been applied in such a way, possibly with the use of wax, so as to leave other areas of the clay clear.
The underside of the base is painted "D.SHARP POTTERY RYE" & "TEST"
